Welcome to Swim Star!
My name is Christine, I am the Founder and Executive Director of Swim Star LLC.
I am an Autism Mom and a lifelong lover of all things water. As a kid, all I wanted to do was play in Lake Michigan for hours on end. As an adult not much has changed! After a career in International Development, Cultural Competency training and Racial Justice Education, I decided to lean back into one of my original passions - helping others learn skills necessary to be safe in and enjoy the water and all it offers.

The average human is made up of 50% - 75% water. There is evidence that humans have been swimming for 100,000 years, for both utility and leisure! Today, 55% of the world's population does not know how to swim. At Swim Star, we know swimming is a lifesaving skill and EVERYONE can learn.
Safety First
Swimming deaths are 160 times more likely in children with autism as compared to neurotypical children. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for kids with autism under the age of 14. We are doing our part to change these terrible statistics! Everyone can learn to swim safely, and we are committed to getting there together, for your family's peace of mind.
